January 22 Luncheon
The combined Ottawa 60+ Slo-Pitch League-Monday ball luncheon will be held at 11:30am Tuesday January 22 at the Fieldhouse Restaurant at the RA Centre. It will be order from the menu, so you can have anything from a full lunch to just a drink or an appetizer. At the luncheon, Steve Kelly will briefly talk about the upcoming season for the Ottawa 60+ Slo-Pitch League, and David Fox will also briefly talk about the upcoming season for the Monday Ball 50+ Slo-pitch League.

So what we need to know is who's coming so we can inform the RA Centre, and we'll need to know no later than one week before, Tuesday January 15. If you are coming, please confirm by e-mail to David Fox at: foxball@rogers.com

Hope you can make it!

Hard to believe that the Ottawa 60+ Slo-Pitch League just played its first game of 2019 only 3 days after new years day. On Friday January 4, 2019, twenty six players arrived at the Hornets Nest Superdome in Blackburn for a one and a half hour softball game. Although the Arctic Foxes jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, the Claw eventually won the game 23-13. Thanks to Max for scorekeeping, Sam for umpiring, Judi for all the team shirts and cookies, and the league executive for supporting this game.

After the game everyone gathered at the Big Rig for the post-game analysis. Thanks to all for coming out, it was a huge success, and will now become an annual event.

Hometown Sports Playoff Champions
Hometown Sports won the Playoff Championship Lorenzo's Trophy. They went ahead in the top of the seventh inning and held on for the victory. In the Consolation Clark Equipment Trophy, Crete-Ryan won with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the seventh. Congratulations to both teams.

Thanks to Dick Dinelle for putting his name forward.

Bill Stinson was been acclaimed as Treasurer.

Thank you to everyone who voted (almost 90%).
Thanks to Art Boudreau, our Chief Electoral Officer.

In case of rain an email will be sent out on gameday morning by 8:00. Please show up at the RA if you haven't heard anything either from the league or your Captain. It may be raining at your house but not at the RA. Games that have been rained out are normally played on Wednesday if the diamonds are available.

Email Communication
Email is the primary communication method of the league. If you are not getting email notices, or if you know of anyone who should be getting them, please let the league know. ottawa60plusslopitch@gmail.com
