On Thursday August 20, 2015, a number of Ottawa 60+ players representing Ottawa West drove down to Irondequoit, NY to play in a men’s tournament on artificial turf at McAvoy Field.  Game one went well with a decisive win over a Rochester team, but after that some very strong American teams were played.  Our team ended up with a 1-2 round-robin record, and it didn’t get any better in the playoffs as we lost both games of a double knockout format.  (Congrats to Dave Tripp who hit a home run during game one of the playoff round).  The team; however, enjoyed shopping, dining and touring Irondequoit, and also made many new friends.  It is hoped that some of the teams will come to Ottawa next July to play in our tournament at the RA Centre.
